Are Recent Snow Storms Signs Of The Times
December 20, 2008Sunspots are rare occurrences since Solar Cycle 24 first started earlier this year. Expected to start last fall, however, due to a lack of activity, Cycle 24 was later pushed up to March of 2008 according to a forecast issued by NOAA’s
According to scientist, on January 4, 2008, a reversed-polarity sunspot appeared, which should have signaled the start of Solar Cycle 24, yet since that time no sunspots of significance or duration have appeared on the sun. The previous solar cycle, Cycle 23 peaked in 2000-2002 with many furious solar storms and scientists have been left wondering just when Cycle 24 will begin in earnest.
Could the lack of sunspots and therefore the lack of activity generated to earth by these sunspots be related to the severe snow storms that are now being experienced throughout the
Solar storms have a big effect on the polar regions of our planet, so much so that when airplanes fly over the poles during solar storms, they can experience radio blackout, navigation errors and computer reboots and are often redirected during these events.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, an agency of the U.S. Commerce Department, is dedicated to enhancing economic security and national safety through the prediction and research of weather and climate-related events and information relating to solar activity and our earth.
Here are two sites that monitor the sun and sunspot activity:
Also, included here is a site that monitors weather for at least the
Be informed, then you decided whether we are headed for global warming or whether our weather will be affected by lack of sunspots, increase in sun spots or the dip into the galactic center that is purportedly to take place soon.
Be prepared!!
And that’s the way I see it.
